Our week in Tuatahi 2

We went around the school and had a little picnic on the playground.
This week, Tuatahi extended on their learning about chickens. Lorna our ESOL teacher, helped us learn some new facts  about hens. Tuatahi got to pet our school chickens and fed them too.
Children worked on the coop collaboratively and made one in the room with recycled material.

Phonics: This week we are learning about the ‘sh’ blend.

Technology

We have been planning, designing and building an enclosure for a farm animal.

Our enclosure had to have:  food, water, shelter and a fence to keep the animals safe.

Fun Friday

We didn’t let the weather dampen our Friday learning fun. Look how busy we were today!

We started with fun Friday fitness and some balancing.

 

Look at our lovely farm art!  Keep and eye out for more farm animal paintings to come…. we have all chosen a farm animal to paint.

We are learning about repeating patterns.

  

We love reading and can use our book boxes to read books independently.  We read 5 or more books after we have read and presented our poem of the week!

It has been fun to learn all about stick insects and write our own stories about them.
